Gallagher Retail Park, Coventry

In 1995 Gallagher acquired the former Alfred Herbert works at Stoney Stanton Road, Coventry. The site already had consent for non-food retail development but work had to start shortly after the acquisition to preserve the planning consent. Reserved Matters approval was obtained for 145,000 sq.ft of non-food retail and fast food restaurant.

The original scheme was built over 2 years in 1996/97 to provide 13 units. During the construction a new link road between the M6 motorway and the city centre was constructed providing immediate access to the retail park. Further land was acquired and planning consent was secured for a further 27,500 sq.ft plus 5,000 sq.ft on the original site. In 2002 we developed Phase 2 which was successfully let to Dreams, Carpetright and MFI.

Current asset management activity includes securing the surrender of the Powerhouse unit and agreeing terms to relocate Shoefayre. We expect to be able to announce the introduction of a major new fashion retailer to the Park before the end of 2006.

Recent rent reviews have been successfully carried out by our agents Wilkinson Williams and Robert Clarke & Co.

The current tenant line up comprises of TK Maxx, Argos, Shoefayre, Comet, Powerhouse, Pets at Home, Matalan, ScS, Maplin Electronics, Ethics, Instore, JJB, Dreams, MFI, Carpetright and McDonalds.
